Great job! I liked every scene of the story. By the way, does your character have any backache or something? Haha just kidding.
I find funny how you showed our culture in the sense of tourism and shopping. I know that we, Colombians, tend to be a bit thrifty and even stingy sometimes. Besides, almost all of us want to take some souvenirs from every trip we made. Your character shows that perfectly. The comment on the guerrilla thing was hilarious, even though it is a sensitive issue and, unfortunately, a mark that we all have in other countries. I think your character resembles to almost any other culture in terms of tourism, because it is very common to see people from outside Colombia buying things from here to take to their home country.
Hey man, Am really glad you enjoyed the comic, I guess my character is a professional dancer and that´s why he is so flexible :D, either way he knows how to twerk hehehe. Am really happy I got my point across. I tried to portrait this crazy tourist in need for souvenirs and kind of neurotic about security to show a bit of our culture. We Colombians have these crazy habits when we travel, you know, like looking for any given bargain and be loud and these stereotypes where we associate everything with the daily national violence. If you think about it is insane how besides numb, social media can make you paranoid, still you know what they say “those who doesn´t know their history are doomed to repeat it”. Thanks for the comment man.
I really enjoyed your comic, it was pretty funny and coherent at the end.I can see a couple of cultural aspects throught the comic. I agree about that we as Colombians when we are in other country we buy souvenirs as experience's memories as Sebastian said .
I think that something that represents Colombians is our personality and how we deal with problems and you did it in the comic with your character .
Hey cutie, Am really happy you liked the comic, the cultural aspects were brought to you courtesy of my experiences. You know we Colombians have this tendency to being loud and like partying, I mean we have like a lot of holidays and the habits around the tourism on those holidays are for me almost the flag of our culture. I never thought about it but I guess you´re right the way we deal with stuff is very particular. Thank you so much for the comment. See you soon :D
Hi Alan, I think you did a really great job. I loved reading this, it was very funny and entertaining. The story is coherent and catching, and really easy to understand because of the clear language you used and also the cartoons, it's well ilustrated. About your character, I got to tell you, I love him, he's so happy and funny; the part of the selfie with the snake, I loved it!!! Well, I think the character is well created, personality and expressions, they resemble to what we have known as colombian people. Thanks for sharing :D
Hi Paola, Thank you so much. Am really happy you enjoyed reading the comic, at the beginning it was kind of hard editing the dialogues but by the third frame I get used to it. I was inspired by all the travelling anecdotes I have and all the people I’ve met. I guess when you put yourself in another cultural context you realize just how Colombian one can be and how many customs you unconsciously apply. Again thank you, see you around.
Nice job my friend! It reminded me this program called: "Ex On The Beach" ... jajajajaja. Well as I didn't understand clearly what the teacher means about "cultural resemblance", I will say that the Professor, his wife, Sandy, and Talbot, were from what I think is the same race, different than Thommy and the others characters from the story. Anyway, it was a great comic strip. Have a good night my friend.
Hey dude, I guess now that you say it; it does look a bit like “Ex on the Beach” hehehe. You made think of another reality show I used to watch called “Temptation Island”, where people went in couples and end it up fighting hehehe XD. I suppose that what the professor meant was the cultural differences between us as a character in the comic and the search’s characters. Probably the sequel could be “The Search Shore” hehehe. Thank you so much for the comment dude. See you around -Alan
Good job, Alan. The story is coherent and you represented them well through your characters. I think the part of partying as an end could be very Colombian too.
Thank you so much professor, the end naturally take that turn when I imagined both cultures crashing, Mr. Crane ended up being the life of the party hehehe. Again thank you.
Hey, Alan!
